2009 Scheduled Bike Rides

NOTICE:
These are Adults-only rides.  Riders must be at least age 18 to ride with the group.

Cycling can be an inherently dangerous activity.  If you have been riding long enough, you know there are crashes.  Riders can and do get hurt. We ride in very urban areas with traffic that is not always mindful of cyclists.  Each rider is personally responsible for their own safety.
 
NEW Start Time:
Saturday ride starts at 0900
Sunday ride starts at 0900

Starting location: Promptly starting from Caribou Coffee on Kercheval in Grosse Pointe.

Saturdays at 0900  This is the Tour deTwa Detroit ride:  Downtown loop and off to Belle Isle for a fast lap or two. This is an urban ride of 30-40 miles with surprise detours every now and then.

Sundays at 0900 for a 35 mile ride out Jefferson to Metro Beach.

About BikeGP

BikeGP is an informal group of cycling enthusiasts in the East Side Detroit suburb: Grosse Pointe, Michigan.  We are dedicated to having fun and keeping fit the best way we know how, cycling, and have scheduled rides at least 2 days a week.  We are an informal, ad-hoc group that welcomes aggressive, adult (age 18) riders!

Charter members:  Gary, Jim A, Peter, Bruce, Russ, Ronald, Jim K and Melissa.  Special thanks to Tim for the initial invitation.  Over the summer riders (excuse me if I missed some):  Dan, Martin, Eric, Andy, Butch.  Other sports we participate in: ski, run, swim, kayak, scuba dive, golf to name a few. We can be found most weekends at the locations above..
