You will have fun and earn the prestigious PADI Five Star Open Water Diver picture ID scuba certification card taught by a PADI Master Instructor at a PADI Five Star Dive Center. The PADI Open Water Diver certification is the single most widely recognized and respected scuba rating in the world. Your PADI certification card will be recognized and immediately honored world-wide for dive services and scuba equipment rentals and purchases as required for proof of your scuba education level. More than 60% of all recreational scuba divers in the world have a PADI certification card.
Books & Tables: I have lots of PADI Open Water Diver books and tables and I can save you a few bucks on these.
Check List of things you will need:
1. Pay
tuition and book fees for your instruction, text book, dive tables, and logbook
2. Purchase a mask, snorkel, fins, booties, weights,
and weight belt.
3. Rent a regulator, tank, bcd, and wet suit.
I can help you do this on Saturday.
4. Park fees at Blue Lagoon in Huntsville.
5. Passport-style ID picture for your certification card.
* Very few PADI instructors ever achieve MASTER INSTRUCTOR status. This instructor level indicates that the instructor is certified to teach and has taught the required quantities of a complete range of classes from beginner to instructor and specialty levels. Only a hand-full of Master Instructors are in the entire Houston regional area.
PADI Open Water Diver Class
Now is the time to dive into the PADI Open Water Diver course from a PADI Master Instructor, the most popular dive program in the world from someone that holds one of the highest Instructor ratings in the world! This is your ticket to a lifetime of intense adventure with PADI, the dive company that sets the standards in the global diving community.
Why PADI Open Water? As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, the most widely recognized and respected rating in the world, you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional. You will be certified through a PADI Five Star Store by a PADI Master Scuba Instructor! If you already tried a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience or are PADI Scuba Diver certified, check with Bill Jones to see how credit from these courses may apply to the open water program.
What do I need to start? Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. You must be older than the age of 14 to begin the PADI Open Water Diver program. For those of you who are not above the age of 14 and would like to participate in the PADI Open Water Diver Program, then the PADI Jr Open Water Diver program is available to you. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available. A PADI Jr Open Water Diver between the ages of 10 and 11 years may only dive with a PADI Professional, a certified parent or certified guardian to a maximum depth of 40 feet.
What will I do? Throughout the course, you’ll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn this rating by completing the pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water dives at Blue Lagoon in Huntsville.
How long will it take? PADI programs are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you. But in general, see the schedule above.
What will I need? A passport-style ID photo, text book, tables, logbook, mask, snorkel, fins, weights, weight belt, tank, bcd, wetsuit, and regulator, but Bill Jones will make this very easy for you.
Where can I go from here? Continue the adventure with PADI’s "Adventures in Diving" program (Advanced Open Water Diver), your next step in exploring the underwater world. Ask Bill Jones for more information on the PADI Adventures In Diving program. Bill will have brand new Adventures in Diving manuals for sale during class at discounted prices that are less than what you would pay at your favorite dive store. You can begin reading about your Advanced Open Water Diver certification before you complete the beginner Open Water Diver class!
