24K Gold Silk,
A New Spritual Tool

24 Karat gold silk combines the mystique of both gold and silk. This concept has been given form and reality by Bill and Pat Reid of Golden, Colorado; Bill the metallurgical wizard and alchemist; Pat, designer and healer. The silk became a reality in 1996. Its uses over the past 3 years include ceremonial, initiation, meditation, shielding, transition and decoration. The soft luxurious and washable material combines qualities of light and resonance discussed in this article.
Bill, a graduate of the Colorado School of Mines, has been a researcher in and producer of precious metals in the U.S.A. for the past 20 years. He is also an alchemist and visionary. The idea for the 24K gold silk was inspired by a multimedia display at an art exhibit and involves not only advanced chemistry, but alchemy as well. 2 - 3 yards of high quality silk can be produced per day under their current production set-up.
What is unusual about the 24K gold silk is its texture, color, and wearability. According to textile curators both here in the U.S. and abroad, gold has traditionally been applied onto or into fabric as metallic thread, wire or in gold leaf forms. These materials with their bright, hard metallic surfaces were often difficult to wear or clean. In contrast, the gold in the 24K gold silk is integrated into the fabric structure, creating its special and highly proprietary effect.
Pat, trained as an occupational therapist, also brings 18 years as a clothing designer and seamstress to the gold silk. A clairvoyant has described Pat's role with the silk as "the connector, bringing high frequency into form and grounding energies to the earth". Specifically, the "form" has been body coverings in various sizes such as scarves, ties, camisoles, and kimonos - garments which gently protect and cover the energy centers of the body.
Before describing some of the energy patterns and uses of 24K gold silk, let's look at the components. Both Silk and Gold have awesome extensive histories and similarities. Silk, used for some 4000 years, epitomizes luxury, splendor, luster and the aura of royalty. It definitely reigns supreme as the queen of fabrics. It has been the chosen fabric for meditation, religious and other ceremonies and fine art. What gives silk such a spectacular appearance is triangular protein fibers that reflect light like prisms on a microscopic level, producing the characteristic sheen. Called an "ideal fabric" silk is strong, lightweight, and resists soil with its smooth fibers and rarely mildews. Silk's origin from the lowly silkworm was kept secret by the Chinese for some 2,000years. Silk literally became worth its weight in gold after its early introduction into the western world by overland caravans from China.
Like silk, gold has a long history as one of the first known metals. Early cultures knew of this bright yellow substance and it became the mark of wealth for thousands of years. Gold, notorious for. inspiring man's passionate even violent desire to acquire it in any form, is the subject of numerous legends. During the Middle Ages, gold figured prominently in the development of alchemy. Based on the belief that base metals could be transformed into gold and confer immortality, alchemy to this day continues to intrigue and draw men to its practice. The belief that gold can prolong life was demonstrated by the advanced age attained by notable alchemists.
Gold and silk, then, have both mystical as well as light-reflecting properties. By inclusion of "chemically bonded" gold in the *dielectric silk, the resulting material appears to act as a room temperature *superconductor or'quantum resonator. This state probably accounts for the soft, liquid feel of the material as well as an increase in light reflectivity that includes a shimmer of *chatoyant-like quality.

Not only is the 24K gold silk a first in the textile world, but also appears to have energies that affect its wearers. One biofield effect has been captured by aura photography and noted by various clairvoyants and "sensitives". The auric field appears either as blue or golden. In one case aura photography pictured "a golden bubble" around the subject while wearing a large gold scarf. The state is reportedly accompanied by deep relaxation, decreased stress, and paradoxically a feeling of grounding. The silk may indeed create a link between collective consciousness and ordinary .matter. Several wearers of the silk report visions of a locale similar to the King's Chamber in the Great Pyramid of Cheops.
The overall influence of the gold silk is a kind of resonance on contact, variously described as "warmth", "softness", "smoothness". "This resonance must be personally felt and experienced," writes Peter Jackson, writer/researcher in Virginia. In his booklet "Light Life Technology Experiments and 24K Gold Silk from page 17 Reviews", Peter gives examples of the use of gold silk as an aid and facilitator alone and in combination with other practices and tools: during bodywork for hip pain, "modulating, tingling deep sensations... relaxation, balancing: when silk was laid along the meridian lines of the body; A decrease in right shoulder pain by more than 50% when gold silk worn inside a T-shirt for approximately 30 minutes; A gold scarf held during meditation lasting approximately 40 minutes appeared to facilitate calmness, relaxation, "very deep, sense of physical expansion... very healing and warm."
Other reports are similar and additionally note effect on the emotions. Several stoles have been donated to hospices to aid clients in "transition". One worker states, "I placed the stole around the neck of the client with the crystals hanging on the front of the chest to begin energy work. It (the stole and crystals) enabled the wearer to reach a much higher level of consciousness than before... in a very gentle and loving way it helped dispel his fears and anger over the disease and dying."
There is a cautionary aspect to the use of 24K gold silk which is to recognize the "end-point". One clairvoyant summarizes this as a feeling of terminatibn after accessing and viewing issues, psychic and otherwise. To monitor the use of the gold silk is a responsibility. Duration and size of application should be carefully supervised. One report indicated that a woman developed a headache when a scarf was worn too long during meditation. However, by majority the gold silk appears to meet a number of needs to provide support, warmth, protection and insight and in the company of other tools and rituals acts as "trainer wheels" to enhance an individuals' own abilities.
