I enjoy experimenting with
antennas. Check out the G7FEK design here: I
installed a version of this antenna in March, 2011 and it works FB on
80-10 meters. It seems to load reasonably well on 6 meters
also.

My new
10 Meter QRSS beacon is now
on the air around 10.140.033 MHz. This CW signal is frequency
shifted approximately 5 Hz and the dits are three seconds in duration.
The beacon may be displayed
using ARGO software.
It is running 20.4 dBm or 109
mw when I am not otherwise on the air with the G7FEK antenna. The
beacon
transmitter is from the Hans
Summers
(G0UPL) kit and is built into an
Altoids mint tin. |
In late
May of 2010, I retired from the
practice of medicine and relocated to Florida, the state of my
birth. WA4KBD is now located
in Gainesville, about two
hours drive north of Orlando.

I have a Kenwood TM-D710A
transceiver in the car and use it primarily to beacon my position via
the APRS network. There are several Internet locations where global
APRS data may be visualized on a map. Check this one out: Wulfden.org.
