Cat Daddy 4.0

It's been almost two years since the new Cat Daddy lineup has been together and many have said it is the the best we have evenr sounded.

When auditioning drummers, we had at least 18 responses to our Craigslist posting. Many were good but when Danny Booth came in he just knew all the tunes. This saved us unimaginable hours of rehearsal since the Cat Daddy song list is about 200 songs and grows every day. Danny has been a pro on the local, regional and national touring scene for decades. Cat Daddy played with Danny's old band, Fourplay at one of the Keith Horne Band gigs at Godfather's a few years ago. Little did we know our paths would merge. Danny is a super solid drummer who studies arrangements before working up a song to learn every nuance of the original. While his taste in music runs wide and deep his mentor on drums is the late John Bonham of Led Zeppelin.

When Gary Jacobs came in for his first time he was able to play just about anything we put in front of him. The real surprise came when we sang together and the harmonies came together "like brothers". Gary has a high vocal range and in our first practice he sang Hold On Loosely by 38 Special effortlessly. Gary is a veteran of the Richmond music scene and though his roots are in country music, he has everything in his musical repertoire from Motown to prog rockers Yes to the most current radio hits.

It's great to have a band of professionals who get the job done and are completely reliable in every aspect. Cat Daddy has been able to expand the syles of music we play even more than we ever had. This allows us to successfully play to whatever crowd we meet. Experience and professionalism show in the Cat Daddy performance, and the quantity and quality of our bookings have increased as a result.
