I finished the bodywork to the best of my ability before handing the GTX over to a real professional. Chris touched up a couple of minor spots before wheeling the GTX into the booth. The finish used was Dupont black basecoat and performance clear.

The series of pictures to the left show the car with sealer and about half of the first color coat applied. The middle picture shows Chris finishing up a color coat and the lower picture shows the car as it came out of the booth. The job was almost complete, but there was one step left and it was a big one. The lower body on a '69 GTX is painted with a special textured flat black, it would require another painting session. The same paint is also used  for the V21 "performance hood paint" stripes. Even though my GTX didn't originally come with the stripes, I chose to add them anyway. After careful masking and layout, Chris applied Ditzler DDL-9355 "Organisol Black" to the lower body sides and the hood. I couldn't be happier with the end result. I never dreamed that it would turn out as nice as it did. Thanks Chris, you did an excellent job on the final prep and painting.
