Pine Woods Audubon Society

Hattiesburg, MS

A Chapter of the National Audubon Society

Who We Are

The Pine Woods Audubon Society meets monthly, from September through May, at 7:00 p.m. at the Kamper Park Education Center in Hattiesburg.  There are no charges associated with attending our meetings and no membership is required to attend meetings or other PWAS events.  We welcome visitors.

If you are interested in officially joining PWAS, there are two ways you can do that:
1.  Join the National Audubon Society and tell them that we are your "local chapter."  They will notify us of your membership through them.  You will receive the National Audubon magazine and you will receive the local chapter newsletter as part of your membership.
2.  Join the local chapter only for $20 annually (individual or family).  Your local dues go to support our monthly newsletters, educational activities, and other chapter events and we will mail you a copy of the chapter newsletter each time it is published (currently monthly).
3.  You can do both -- and many of our members do.

Click here to get a membership form to join the Chapter.

Mission

Our mission follows that of the National Audubon Society, with whom we are affiliated:

"To conserve and restore natual ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife, and their habitats for the benefit of humanity and the earth's biological diversity."
