Tagasuru hunts the taint of the ShadowLands wherever it takes him. In this he hopes to purge the world of and seek the truth behind the rumors. Of the feelings of Hida Tagasuru on his fellow Magistrates
- On Daidoji Cage: I have on occasion seen the Daidoji blood within him. Words and swords both have a double edge, but must be used with honor to be effective. A bodyguard is no good to his master when standing behind him.

- On Youma: This Wasp speaks his mind and speaks with uncommon sense. He values truth more than honor in away that might offend some. Youma would have made a fine Crab if his destiny were different.
- On Moto Buti: This Moto lives up to his heritage. I have seen troubling things in him. I have seen no singe will guiding his actions, I trust not his word. In action he plays at honor, in the night moves in dark shadow.
- On Isawa Ahiro: The Pheonix have always been powerful workers of majic and this I have seen. He has suffered for his devotion to the Emperor and does not shy away. I trust him to watch my back and put forth good council.
