Anneke's hand flashed forward, only to be snatched by Blayne as he spun around, he stepped back and jerked her arm forward and down. Off balance, Anneke stumbled forward. As Blayne was backing up Clive drove the stake forward with all his might, Blayne howled in pain releasing Anneke, whirled to face Clive, the stake jerked out of Clive's hand. He pistoned a leg into Clive's chest. Clive snapped backwards flying from his feet and crashed into the edge of the opposite building with bone crunching force, hung there for a second, then fell forward falling 5 stories into the alley below.
"Cool." Alexander stated. That was about all the enthusiasm he could muster. Watching Blayne go toe-to-toe with a Justicar and her bodyguard was impressive and he was not sure he wanted to get into the middle of it.
Anneke and Blayne glided across the rooftop back and forth, their strikes and kicks blurring as they battled. They landed bone-shattering blows but neither could gain the upper hand. Anneke fought with all the technique and form she had learned over six hundred years, but could not overcome the sheer ferocity and rage that her Childe burned with. This was not the same man that she had made her Childe. This was an animal, a beast that could not be reasoned with and needed to be destroyed. She was confident that she could outlast him in raw blood power, he was not as old as she, and thus would have fewer reserves to draw on. But as the battle continued on into minutes, she became worried, he was fueling his speed, strength, and stamina, all of it - with blood. Burning the precious fluid, like she was doing. He should not be able to match her drop for drop, but he was.
Clive hauled himself back up onto the roof, it was a tough climb back up and he was tired and sore, but he couldn't leave his mistress to fight alone. The kid gloves were off. He braced himself, waiting for a moment when Anneke and Blayne were apart. It came, Blayne grabbing Anneke and hurling her from him, she crashed into Alexander and they went down in a heap. Clive vomitted a gout of boiling blood that washed over Blayne. He could hear the blood hiss as it came into contact with Blayne's skin. Blayne howled, clawing at his burning skin, Clive could see glimpses of bone and muscle as the skin was eaten away from them. Blayne turned and fled, leaping off the rooftop and dropping from sight.
Clive glanced over to Anneke and saw her getting back to her feet, he raced over to the edge of the roof and peered over the side. He could see a giant bloody blotch on the ground where Blayne had impacted, and a trail of blood leading off into the morning light. He was still alive, this was not over yet.
