Florence WILD

Text Box: Spring 2008

The Wild were excited and came to play expecting a tough time, but the kids played their hearts out and dominated with an undefeated inaugural session!

The first official season

March 16, 2008 started the first season for the Florence Wild at home and it was a cloudy, cold and windy start.  The Wild came out for a fast start, but the opposing team came back to tie it up.  In the end, the Wild came up big with a win.

March 30, 2008 was the first away game for the Wild.  With a two week break, it could have been a distraction, but the defense was solid in support of a offense on the move and another win was secured.

April 6, 2008 provided a second away game with a breeze that chilled us all.  A few minutes of warming up was all it took for the Wild to find it’s grove and notch another win.

April 13, 2008 our second home game and what a game it was.  By far, our toughest challenge.  While the score didn’t reflect it, it was a very good game and one we’ll have to keep our mind on for the future.  But the win is what we came away with and it was a hard one to earn.

April 20, 2008 were we envious of those Valleybrook fields…until one of the goals got blown over, just missing the head of one of the keepers!  The Wild showed up to play and took off with another victory.  Congratulations kids on a well played game.

April 27, 2008—hat’s off to a speedy Edgewater Park Team.  One of the toughest games played to date.  Having lost 2 key players (one before the game and one during) meant that others had to step up...and they did.  Congratulations to the team keeping the winning streak alive.

May 4, 2008—They came to play.  All the kids did a great job passing and playing position.  Great job guys!  One more game to go…

May 11, 2008—Well, it wasn’t the ideal way to end a season, but at least our record held for the inaugural WILD season.  The TBAA Devil Dogs phoned in a forfeit...so we scrimmaged with kids from 2 of the older divisions.  Congratulations kids!  Great job!
