This page contains in-dept Macro command creation.
In the world of Lord of the Ring Online, Macro is called Alias.
Unlike other MMORPG, Lord of the Ring Online is severely limited. As of Book 13
update, Alias command is only bound to display command. Also, alias command is
created on client side, meaning you must declare all your same alias on each
computers you use.
What is macro? What is alias?!
Macro and alias are a string of commands you can declare to do multiple
commands. In laymen's term, it's like assigning a person to multi-task various
jobs.
Alias command syntax:
/alias ;<new alias string> <replacement
string>|add ;<new alias string> <replacement string>
|remove ;<unwanted alias string> |list | clear | clearlist | shortcut
;<alias string> <shortcut location>
Yes it looks complicated but don't get intimidated! Lets break it down.

The first line of command:
/alias ;<new alias string> <replacement
string>|add ;<new alias string>
<replacement string>
|remove ;<unwanted alias string> |list | clear | clearlist | shortcut
;<alias string> <shortcut location>

/alias ;<new alias string> <replacement
string>
This command allows you to declare new alias.
Example use:
/alias ;hello /k Hello everyone! How are you guys today?
What this mean is you've just declared ;hello
command to type out "Hello everyone! How are you guys today?" on
Kinship chat box.
In order to use your new alias you must type ;hello.
The ";hello" in /alias
command can be named to anything you wish.
Did you know?
You can use emotes and other game commands in conjunction with the alias such as
for emote /wave or for game command ;loc
or /anon.
Few examples of commands you can use with conjunction of /alias.
;loc - Predefined alias command already installed that will display your
current coordinate.
;target - Predefined alias command already installed that will display
your current target's name.
/follow - A command (not alias) that follows a
currently selected target.
Okay so how can we use this alias to our advantage? There are various ways!
Here are just few examples.
Location:
Type the following:
/alias ;myloc /t yourname
;loc
Press enter...
(Note: Replace yourname with your character name
you're currently playing.)
(Note: ;myloc can be named anything you want. You
can even name it ;b and it will work.)
What you've just did is you declared ;myloc
command to send you a personal tell of your current location in coordinate.
Type ;myloc on your chat box to use your new alias
command.
Tactical warning:
Type the following:
/alias ;mez /f ****Mezzing ;target****
Press enter...
(Note: ;mez can be named anything you want.)
What you've just did is you declared ;mez
command to say ****Mezzing ;target*** in fellowship
chat channel. The ;target will also display current
target you have selected.

The second line of command:
/alias ;<new alias string> <replacement
string>|add ;<new alias string>
<replacement string>
|remove ;<unwanted alias string> |list | clear | clearlist | shortcut
;<alias string> <shortcut location>

/alias add ;<new alias string>
<replacement string>
This is almost the same function as the first example I have mention. So far
I have not used this command or have found the need to use it. So I'm not going
into detail.

The third line of command:
/alias ;<new alias string> <replacement
string>|add ;<new alias string>
<replacement string>
|remove ;<unwanted alias string> |list | clear | clearlist | shortcut
;<alias string> <shortcut location>

/alias remove ;<unwanted alias string>
If you need to remove any declared alias use this
command. For example:
/alias remove ;myloc

The fourth line of command:
/alias ;<new alias string> <replacement
string>|add ;<new alias string>
<replacement string>
|remove ;<unwanted alias string> |list | clear | clearlist | shortcut
;<alias string> <shortcut location>

/alias list
List out every alias you have declared on current computer you are on.

The fifth and six line of command:
/alias ;<new alias string> <replacement
string>|add ;<new alias string>
<replacement string>
|remove ;<unwanted alias string> |list | clear |
clearlist | shortcut
;<alias string> <shortcut location>

/alias clear
/alias clearlist
I am not sure but one of this command clears an entire
alias library including ;loc
and ;target. So I
advice you not to use these functions.

The 7th line of command:
/alias ;<new alias string> <replacement
string>|add ;<new alias string>
<replacement string>
|remove ;<unwanted alias string> |list | clear | clearlist | shortcut
;<alias string> <shortcut location>

/alias shortcut
;<alias string> <shortcut location>
This allows you to move your declared alias command to
any shortcut key. For example:
If you haven't declared ;myloc
do the following:
Type:
/alias ;myloc /t yourname
;loc
Press enter...
(Note: Replace yourname with your character name.)
To move your ;myloc alias to your shortcut do the following:
Type:
/alias shortcut ;myloc 1
Press enter...
What this means is you moved your ;myloc alias
you have created earlier to shortcut #1 which is located next to your
auto-attack button. The icon is black with alias name in the middle. Once the
icon appear, you can drag that anywhere
else in your shortcut. Okay, you can also try this with:
/alias ;autofollow /follow ;target
/alias ;mez /f ****Mezzing**** ;target
This is it for now. For the next lesson we can get into more advance alias
commands that would help you with Fellowship maneuver
