Summer 2006Wow! 'Tis been nearly a month since I blogged last. I haven't been up to much though. My brother has come here for a little while before his school starts back up. I read a few books for school, did the work for them, and took tests on them. Watched tv, went to a baseball game, still holding on to the last shred of summer bliss I had. I really like the way gel buttons look, so I made a couple of my own and they turned out well so I made avatars out of them. I've mostly just been doing homework and studying, catching Kyle XY when I can. It looks like my hardest classes this year will definitely be english and history. They're going to take a bit more effort and concentration than all the others. So wish me luck. I've got to go study for a giant History test! Yay! Summer Slobbery 7/22/06 I've just recently been inspired by an australian mother of two. Her blog is so simplistic and concise and well worded. I just really love the way she gives you such an insight in such few words. So I've decided to model my blog after hers in a couple of ways. Anyways, I'm just about to finish a couple of projects and start on some new ones. I've finished my first of three books I have to read for the upcoming school year. They are Till We Have Faces, The Jungle, and A History of Women. They're alright; not what I normally read. I have to write a short essay on one and have a test on all of them. Other than that, I've just been a big slob not wearing my contacts, eating too many snacks, and the such. That's pretty much all L.G. didn't forbid me to tell you. So do as I say and live your damn life now because it ain't gettin any longer. Stale Summer 7/5/06 Oh, Summer. How I love and despise thee. You give me rest and reprieve from the constant craziness of schoool yet bore me until my brain goes into complete remission. I try to keep active but it's just so easy to sit on the couch and watch reruns all day. I've got to turn in some job applications in sometime soon as well. I think I've got a good shot at them. We'll see. Meanwhile, my hair grows to never-before-seen lengths and my haircut is almost a week away. But I've completed a lot of my projects I set to do during the summer. I'm currently reading The Time Machine by H.G. Wells. Not a bad read but he never explains how his machine works. Grr. Well that's the dish. So peaceasy peeps! Europe Yeah! 6/13/06 I just got back from a vacation in London and Paris with the whole family. It was really amazing. We went on a billion tours and ran from place to place all day long. Let's see. In England, we saw big ben, the tower of london, tower bridge, the river thames, the millenium wheel, the London Museum, stonehenge, hyde park, bath city, the underground, this sweet castle, and some other places I can't quite remember right now because we went so many places in a couple of days. One of my favorite places to go was to see Platform 9 3/4 at King's Cross. That was sweet. Then we took the chunnel over to crazy ol' Paris. There were more panhandlers than I could count in three lifetimes. I was about to call the cops on them because there were a group of evil "Bosnian refugees" who came up to us all over Paris and asked us if we spoke English and then showed us this litle postcard that explained their supposed situation. But they must have had a couple hundred euros in their pocket because they scammed just about every english speaker all over. Other than that, Paris was pretty cool. Almost everyone spoke english as well as french and I could understand a lot of their signs and stuff from taking Spanish. I know it sounds weird, but they're both romance languages and they're a lot alike. So we stayed really close to the Eiffel and went to the top of it. We went and saw like half of the louvre because that place is huge. We saw Monmartre(moan-mar) which was cool because we'd seen some of it from the movie Amelie but there were these evil black men everywhere who tried to put these bracelets on you and these artists asking you if you wanted your portrait and some other tourist trap things. We saw Notre Dame, the Arch de Triumph, and some sweet sidewalk art. All in all, it was an amazing trip and I'd definitely do it again anyday even with all of the panhandlers. Excitement+summer goings on 6/2/06 Well summer seems to be going quite well for me. I have been quite the lazy slob which is the objective of every hard-working person in school. I've worked on the site a whole lot with a little of my sister's input on design parts of the site. I'm hoping to get her blog up and running and pimped out when I get back from Europe. Oh yeah, haven't mentioned that yet. My whole family is going to Europe for like ten days. We're hitting London and parts of England as well as Paris and around those parts in France. We're going to hit all the major sites you can think of there. I've still got to pack and stuff, but I bought some bitchin'(yeah that's right I said bitchin') newbalance shoes, got my passport, and I'm pretty excited just to get out of this place for a while. I've never been out of the country before, so this should be an enriching experience all in all. Well, I've got to go pack and catch some shut-eye because we're going to be flying like ten hours tomorrow. So I'll have lots to talk about next time I blog. Thanks for readin'! Renaissance Man 5/29/06 This past Memorial Day, my sister, brother, mom, and I all went to the renaissance festival! It was sooo much fun! It was like 90 degrees but I didn't care. I bought two necklaces, one with a wizard and a green jewel on it, the other with a dragon and a blue jewel on it. I rather fancy souvenirs from that particular festival because I'm big into King Arthur and the whole Merlin thing. So it's pretty much the highlight of my week whenever I go. And we saw this castle and a human chess game. We had some cold lemonade and saw a comedic magician as well. It was quite enjoyable and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to have fun and can stand the heat. |
