Stress, Homework, and Pluto 8/24/06
Whew! It's almost been a month since my last update. School has started and sucked me into it without the slightest sense of shyness or modesty. Classes are okay, but the papers and stuff are killer. I'm ready for a nice long break (who votes for a second summer?).

Hmm... in terms of fan fictions, I haven't been writing much lately. I have been hitting the poetry, though, and it's working fairly well. I'm also writing some weird stories on the side, purely for enjoyment and experimentation.

Well, I'm kind of tired so I'll cut to the chase. Pluto is a planet, IAU! It has been a planet for 76 years, though not quietly in any respect. But, come on, downgrading it to a dwarf planet? It has been minding its own planetary business all the while and *uh oh* a couple of poser planets come on the scene and suddenly, you not only have to kick the poser punks out of the top honors of the solar system, but you also have to kick out my ol' buddy Pluto! Some planets are better left alone. Saturn would never put up with this...

Firsts, Lasts, and In The Middles 8/3/06
It's AUGUST already? It sure is. It's the third of August, which means that I celebrated my x birthday two days ago. Despite the touch of spender's guilt earned from splurging, it was absolutely amazing. I was also able to see a good friend that I hadn't seen in months, so that was an added bonus. Oh, and candy makes life taste sweeter. There are your words of wisdom for today.

I have less than a week before school begins. It's encroaching upon summer slowly but surely, possibly until the word "vacation" is Old English to the next generation. Naturally, I'm putting off some over-the-summer assignments like a true procrastinator. My "writing skillz" have run dry in the confusing mix of anticipation and sad impatience for school to already be over and summer to come again. One of these days I'll make a resolution to just chill out and focus properly :P. Until then, enjoy the sun and have a great rest of the summer! Peace.

Stuff 7/21/06
It's a beautiful time of the year when you can made to-do lists and actually DO the stuff that's on them. I cleaned out baskets of old school stuff and cleaned off my desk (nice to see the old friend again) today. I've been kind of neglecting my stories, but I haven't had much inspiration. I'm also either stumbling around and squinting or complaining about how dry my contacts are, as my lenses are out for refurnishing. Making a full circle, school is fast approaching. I have shoes and supplies to get! I'm quite content with my schedule as it stands. Ah, another thing I've been neglecting: required reading. I only have a couple of weeks to become comfortable with a totally "fluffy" speech involving a passage I've yet to come across again. Life is getting busy again! Oh... don't forget about the funnel cakes on el primo de agosto! Live long and prosper :)

I Wanna Sleep All Day, And Party Every Night 7/09/06
There's nothing like going to sleep at the crack of dawn and waking up at sunset. Ah, how I love summer. Despite releasing about 5 chapters in a 2-day period, I've been taking just a small break from it. Oh, wait, I just wrote another one. Never mind, then :). I should really start rereading the HP books or my required books sometime soon. It's July already, can you believe it? School starts back up (ugh) in less than a month. But guess what is also in less than a month ;). I just recently got a new phone, which is always really exciting, lol. All is right with the world because Rusty still loves his pants. Peace out :woot:!

Hot Blog, Book Talk Late Night/Early Morning 6/18-6/19/06
My blog is hot. Why is my blog hot? I have an awesome photoshopping brother, that's why. He put up with putting a quote from my fanfiction The Other Boy (shameless plug :P, go Google it) on top of my blog title, as well as taking my old staff picture (who is now a baby Ewok that, thanks to a few good friends, has been dubbed "Sparky") in the "swishy oval thing" on your left hand side. Take note of the subtle touches of writer's parchment (shout-out to HP) as the background, and the background to the "swishy oval thing" matching the inverted parchment adjacent to it. Just take a minute to sit back and take it in. Take a deep breath. Is it awesome, isn't it? Okay, meditation time over. Exhale.

Writing has been slowing down a bit. I took a break from it today due to lack of concentration, a headache, and Father's Day. I came waddling back to an old story of mine just recently, and I'm trying to get back into the swing of things with it. I used to think that it had a certain reliable rhythm, but now I find it sort of boring. I'll give it another shot, though, because I think I owe it to myself to make it to the end.

I watched a couple of World Cup games today, especially caught the big upset of Brazil over Australia. Sorry Aussies, I was rooting for you :(! Went out to dinner to an awesome local pizza place. I went for the bacon and mushroom, and, man, was it good! Since a summer rainstorm caught me and drenched me head to toe, I changed into my awesome new British flag t-shirt that I got while in the beatiful town of Bath!

And now... I'm just sitting here, listening to MuggleCast. I think I'm in Book 7 denial. I'm awaiting its arrival with anticipation, but it will be difficult to sign on everyday knowing that there is nothing left, hanging in the balance, until Jo gives us another enormous package of information. The series will be over. It's a difficult thing to contemplate, thus, I will move on... did you know that Ender's Game is/was supposed to be made into a movie? Straight from the horse's mouth (sorry for the nasty analogy, there, Card). Isn't that an interesting thought, though? People flocking to theaters to see the amazing book in movie form. All I have to say is that I hope it is done justice.

I got ahold of another Laurie Halse Anderson book. She's known for her book entitled Speak. I was hooked on the tantalizingly short Catalyst, so I decided to see if reading all of her works would make up for the lack of pages in each. In a way, I shouldn't be complaining. Her books are short, sweet, and to the point, all from a great viewpoint. However, as a chronic "big" book tackler, I wouldn't mind an extra few 10 or 20 chapters :). I like picking books off of the shelves that people won't read simply based on their size. Eh, maybe that's just me.

Okay, class, that's enough book talk for today, you are dismissed. Oh yeah, no homework. Ha, yes, I know that I am the best teacher ever. Now, off you go. Peace abound and have a good night!

I <3 My Pen 6/16/06
Yo, as in Fro-Yo social. I went to the pool today, stayed for a few hours. Then I came home and watched some Gilmore Girls. Once I sat down at my computer, I thought that I would have a dramatic writer's block day after scrapping half of a chapter, especially after my poetry session last night that yielded the sad question of whether or not I think that I could really make it as a writer. I asked myself the same question about astronomy not long ago, and found myself saying a truly saddened no. I know I don't have to decide what I want to do RIGHT NOW, but as much as I'm enjoying writing these days, I would like for it to be worth something later on. Anyway, I managed to produce a long-ish and rather creepy chapter despite my doubts :). I almost consider writing to be a "significant other" in my life right now, since I'm spending so much time on it and thinking about it whenever I'm not writing. It's incredibly addictive like that, lol. Anyway, Rusty and I are planning on catching a movie tomorrow, which sounds cool with me. Let's see... ah, I should probably be looking for something to do this summer, like a job... but I like waking up whenever I want to way too much. I'm happy with my cash right now, so no problem in lazing around this summer, yay! Well, look at the beauty of this situation: It's in the middle of June at 9:00 and I have no papers, projects, or homework due, no obligations whatsoever. I can go to bed at 3:00am if I want. That is so beautiful that I'm still in awe of it. Ah, summer, how dearly I love thee. Okay, I think a new chapter of TRF is calling for me. Peace abound and go write something!

The Pen and Camera 6/14/06
I don't know about you, but I'm ready for a real blog entry :)! Here goes! Today, I hit Walmart for food and to develop my pictures from England and France. I'm going to miss my German camera from a Japanese company that I, an American, bought in France. It promoted world unity and peace in itself! Anyway, I got around to writing several chapters to my new fanfiction (I can hear Rusty scoffing now). I watched Spiderman 2 with him today as well. Overall, I think that it was fairly productive day. Oh yeah, we watched Germany score in the 90th minute against Poland! Man, those guys were running the game perfectly... well, I'll spare you my sixth reminisce about my Magnificent Seven game, but Rusty knows it well. Ah, how I love soccer. So, anyway... just writing has been on my mind lately. I'm really glad that my stories are developing well. I'm stuck in the middle of The Rainmaker by John Grisham. I think I may set it aside to reread Night by Elie Wiesel for a Book Club meeting, lol. I also have another book to reread for English, but it's too much fun to procrastinate! *sighs* I'm impatiently waiting for Season 6 of Gilmore Girls. I've heard November for the release. That's far too far away. So... wow this is really boring, eh? I don't have anything to rant or complain about, sadly. I can try to come up with something for later, how is that? My best friend is in Australia right now, probably having a girlfight with a kangaroo. Everyone else seems to be fairly busy, which I'm cool with. Summer is a time of relaxation. Well, I had better get back to my story. Peace abound and go read something! You might want to try Harry Potter. I've heard that it's a good series, but I'll have to check it out for myself. Adios!
