Christmas Stocking Directions

Size 10 or so needles, + extra needle for the middle when you do the heel
About 6 oz 4 ply Red Yarn, (depending on length of name) For Example: Red Heart Supersaver Color 390 Hot Red. (Be careful not to go "too orangie")
White Yarn
Green Yarn (need about 12 Yards)
Use Graph paper to map out the name, Some letters are wider than others so keep the centers even.

Cast on 60 Stitches in White
Make the loop at the top for hanging by chaining 12st
Bring the yarn back tight and start to knit
Garter Stitch for 7 Rows

Red Stockinette Stitch for 4 rows
Start pattern

The second tree can move up or down depending on the name.

Darning Stockings for Christmas
Heel-half each side
Knit 1, Slip 1, for 15 Stitches turn around on a different needle and Purl Back
10 Times (20 Rows)
Go to the other side and do the same
Fit back of heel by picking up all of the stitches on the side
Decrease instep to 15 Stitches on each Side of Sole
(If you're like me and the heel instructions mean nothing to you, go find your mother at this point.)

Stockinette Stitch about 4 more inches

Toe
Knit 12, Knit 2 together-Twice, Knit 26, Slip 1 Knit 1 Pass Slipped Stitch Over Twice, Knit 13
Purl Back
Continue until you have about 20 Stitches left, Decreases move as you go like this:

IIIII//IIIIIIIIII\\IIIII
Sew up toe and back seam
