Yawkey Baseball League of Boston
The Yawkey League was established in 1990. Our 17 team league consists of talented college and post-collegiate aged young men who live in the Greater Boston Area. We play a competitive 32 game schedule during the spring & summer months each year. Our league only plays with wood bats, the way the GAME was intended to be played. Although it seems that the YBL is a new amateur baseball league, we have deep roots in a longtime Boston baseball tradition. Since our beginnings in the 1950's, we have been known as the Boston Junior Park League, Boston City League and the Twilight League. We are honored to play our annual All-Star game at Fenway Park. We have been blessed with the strong support of the Boston Red Sox & the Yawkey Foundation, which was established in honor of former Sox owners Tom and Jean Yawkey. Our league is named in honor of these two heroes, whose generosity continues to assist inner-city people.
