The resident artist at the Blue Gentian Lodge is Lisa. Her work includes a papercutting technique often recognized as Scherenschnitte (pronounced – ‘Sharon-schnit-ah) the German word for paper cutting.

As you will see in the photos, the painting styles include Primitive Folk Art, and Bauernmaleri- a European style ‘primitive peasant painting’, as well as Classic New England Folk Art.

Much of the works are painted on rescued and recycled pieces of wood and furniture.

There are usually plenty of pieces on display and if the items are not ‘special order’ you may certainly purchase them for yourself!
