My name is Robert Simkus and I've been teaching
electric and acoustic guitar in DuPage County for nearly 20 years.
I've taught locally at Wheaton's Suburban Music, Mar-Cole Music in Bloomingdale and Guitar E.R. in Lombard, Illinois. I've kept a regular full schedule with over 50 students per week for the last 10 years. In 2006, both Mar-Cole Music (in business since 1959) and Guitar E.R. (in business since the 1988) closed. I kept a full schedule of students at both stores until the owners retired. Since then, I've been teaching private lessons in my home and in my student's homes in and around DuPage.
I'm not only a teacher. I've performed nationally a t music fests
and have toured the country extensively playing music. I also have been featured on VH1's website, have had top ten college radio airplay and am an Itunes Apple distributed artist with two cds currently on Apple's Itunes site. And, two more cd releases coming this year.
I am also a member of the songwriter's performing rights agency BMI located in New York.
I also teach recording techniques using the computer.
