Welcome to the Hell's Belles Guestbook

Thank you for visiting "Tales of the 316th".

Let me just say.. These men are just Hero's. If todays children could realize the Hell of WWII, by being taught just one class a month in High School, perhaps their futures would be different than those who have ruined thier future by crime, drugs and such other non-productive means. Respect would become a househould word again.

It must be noted that the majority of fighter pilots in WWII were in the 22-30 year old range.. Such Brave men.. Could todays 22-30 year olds do the same? I Think Not.

Bless these WWII Heros and all who were there to support them and enable them to fly missions and protect afree AMERICA.

I got a little choked up today when I discovered this site and saw a group picture with my father in the back row on the wing of a P-47. You all may remember my father James Leon LeGette.

A recent problem with the guestbook has been corrected. Anyone who posted a message that did not appear is humbly asked to repeat the procedure. This time, it should work (If you're reading this, it does work!) Also, be sure to check for newer versions of most pages on the site. Updates should be completed soon. I apologize for any inconvenience and as always, I welcome your comments and suggestions.

Link access to the "U.S. Air Force Museum" Web Site through the "316th Fighter-Bomber Squadron" Web Site (Tales of the 316th), makes for some very interesting reading about the use of the airplane, especially that concerning the Army Air Force, during WW II,in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, Corsica, Southern France, Northern France and Germany. There is an endless source of information and history on military aviation and all you have to do is "click" on the subject.

Great start! You have a lot of work to do, but your design is GREAT! I will be checking back as time goes by. I know how hard it is to produce a good web site that tells the stories of our veterans! Keep up the good work!!

The Home Page for "Tales of the 316th" provides an excellent and easy to use "Stepping Stone" format for covering the History of the 316th Fighter-Bomber Squadron during WW II.

Hi 316th FS,
I'm working on a study about air war over Southern France in 1944/45. I'm interested in collecting memories of Vets who flew missions over this area during summer of 1944.
I'm interested in any document concerning the 316th FS during this périod.
Congratulation for your site.
Best regards from Paris
