Zion National Park was the first stop on our holiday. Zion is located in the town of Springdale in southwestern Utah close to the Arizona and Nevada borders. This is the edge of the Colorado Plateau, where the lush high country meets the lower dry desert.

Bryce Canyon is famous for the rock formations known as Hoodoos. The canyons have been formed by continous freeze/thaw cycles that erode the sandstone below harder rock caps.
