Fundraiser - Bread of Life

Between 3 and 6 PM, Sunday, May 19

BOAK will be performing again at the annual spring concert at First Congregational Church in Meltose to raise funds for Bread of Life, a food program in Malden. Blue of a Kind participated last year and the event was able to raise nearly $1400 for this highly-deserving charity.

Blue of a Kind is tentatively scheduled to perform once again at PaddlePalooza of 2013. Make your plans now to be there on Sunday July 21.

Notable Public Performances

BOAK sings at the Melrose Mayoral Inauguration
 Blue of a Kind serenaded Congressman Markey, Mayor Dolan, State Senator Clarke, State Representative Brodeur, and various other dignitaries with "Walk Humbly Son" and "America the Beautiful". The new sound system at Memorial Hall worked wonderfully. Thanks to MMTV the performance can be viewed on YouTube here.

 Blue of a Kind sang the National Anthem at Fenway Park on Tuesday April 12, 2011, prior to the Red Sox 7:10PM home game.

Mayor's Emergency Fund Telethon
Blue of a Kind performed for the city of Melrose's Mayor's Emergency Fund Telethon on 19 December 2009.
We repeated our very successful performance of 2008 during which we sang a holiday song and a blues number
and met incoming pledges dollar-for-dollar while we sang. This year, we decided to put up 50 of the "To the Sky"
CDs as a challenge and give them away to the first 50 callers who pledged $50 or more. Rather than $2500,
in all of about 8 minutes, we raised nearly $5000.

Polymnia Choral Society
Blue of a Kind performed at Polymnia's 6 June, 2009 concert. A video of our performance of "Hawaiian War Chant" is
