Calvary Episcopal Church of Lombard is the backbone of this effort. Through graciousness and generous ways my faith community allowed me, as a member of their congregation, to offer its assistance in collecting and distributing the funds for this project.
Without medical access, Hawa's condition cannot yet be diagnosed. However, given his symptoms, they suggest that Hawa may be suffering from a severe case of Glaucoma. His left eye is blind, and the vision in his right diminishes rapidly. Regardless of the diagnosis, Hawa needs medical treatment as soon as possible.
Dr. Charles Bouchard, Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Loyola University, along with a small team of doctors, offered their efforts in the restoration of Hawa's eyesight.
