Andrews should be a good OL as long as he can keep in condition. The problem is that the Eagles gave up too much to get him - a 1st and 2nd Rd. This is just too much for an Offensive Lineman, especially one who struggles with his weight. The mock pick, Jon Vilma, was drafted much earlier than anticipated as the 12th pick overall.

Although the best available player will be a WR at the 28th overall pick, the Eagles will probably not want to wait two years before a 1st round draft choice can contribute. Also, they wish to give a chance this year to their young WRs to step-up. It is increasing unlikely that the Miami duo Vilma or Williams will be available at 28th but the Eagles are trying to move up in the draft so Vilma will stay as their selection. Jonathan Vilma is a Ray Lewis type LB with all of the intangibles. DJ Williams offers the best size / speed combination and may be drafted before Vilma. There are rumors that the Eagles will take an OL here. I do not believe that. If there is not a CB or LB available worthy of a 1st Rd pick, the Eagles would be foolish not to take a WR that in any other year would be a Top 15 pick despite their preferences. Owens is 31 and the 2nd WR is a question mark. Others: Rashuan Woods WR; Lee Evans WR; DJ Williams LB; Michael Clayton WR; Vernon Carey G; Donta Thomas LB; Karlos Dansby LB. |

The Eagles have some depth that they need to acquire at CB and LB. It is very possible that one of these positions is filled in the 1st Rd. Rather than reach for talent with the 28th pick in the 1st, the best value can be found in the 2nd and 3rd rounds at these positions. The Eagles have a high need at the 3rd CB position. Joey Thomas and Keith Smith may not be there in the 3rd. Thomas is a fast man-to-man cover corner. Can be 3rd CB. Has the potential to one day push Brown and Sheppard. Others: Julius Jones RB; Devard Darling WR; Keith Smith CB; Greg Jones RB; Daryl Smith LB; Justin Smiley G; Michael Turner RB; Derrick Hamilton WR; Ahmad Carroll CB. |

Is probably more suited to Safety. Will play as a Zone CB and specialize against the larger WRs and faster TEs. Also will play backup Safety. Although better Cover CBs were not available due to the trade of 2nd Rd, good value at the bottom of the 3rd. In the mock draft, Chris Snee did go in the 2nd RD and the Eagles passed on Demorrio Williams because they did not like his Wonderlic score of 12.

Most Draft Boards have Snee going in the 2nd. He may slip but there would be no chance that he would be available in the 3rd if he were from a prominent college program. Tough mauler with outstanding speed. May be the 2nd best athlete at OL in the draft. Demorrio Williams would also be a steal here. Good instincts. Is even faster than the current Eagle LBs. Easily better than Boulware. Others: Demorrio Williams LB; Jack Grove C; Michael Boulware LB; Shawntae Spencer CB; Keary Colbert WR. |

Tremendous athlete and strength. Brother of Shawn Andrews. He is new to the position with very little starting time - raw. A development project. But could be worth the patience. I could see the Eagles converting him to Guard. Others: Rich Gardner CB; Alex Lewis LB; Chris Thompson CB; Colby Bockwoldt LB. |
