At the risk of sounding like sour grapes, the receivers were
held and hit
beyond the five yard zone with only 1
penalty called after the game was
already decided. I am not
blaming the officials. I would have to blame the
officials from last year's NFC
Championship as well. But, if the officials are
not going to call defensive holding
and pass interference during the
Championship games, then don't call them during regular season
either.
The Eagles two starting WRs accumulated a total of 1 reception
for 9 years
against
Cell Block 8 wearing pig tails.
It is obvious that the position of the officials in the
Championship Games will
favor large receivers that can beat
CB pressure. With two pro-bowl players at
CB being free agents, weakness at LB, and weakness at WR, there
are more
needs than can be accommodated by
the Draft. The Eagles will need to acquire
2 top-notch players in Free
Agency and draft well. The Eagles can not afford
another year where they suffer a
decline in overall talent.
