These are catalogs derived from the SAO catalogs that exist in Autostars of various evolution. The catalog extraction was done by the hard work of Richard Seymour and Gregory Pruden, all I did was to put them in a form recognizable by Cartes du Ciel.
This is the SAO catalog that existed from Autostar versions 2.1Ek through just before 2.3Eb. There was a fundamental mistake in the way Meade compiled this early catalog and was later revised.
This is the Current SAO catalog that is released in current versions of the Autostar firmware. These are from 2.3Eb to latest. The catalog was released with what Meade termed a small database correction. They basically threw out the entire Autostar SAO catalog and built a new one.
Updated 2.3Eb catalog. I have added the Hip numbers as well as HD, BD CPD, CoD, DM and GC cross references. This catalog also contains proper motion and Parallax with distance in LY.
Hershel 400 add as a regular catalog to Carted du Ciel
For those of you who want to make catalogs for some other program. This is the main star database of the Autostar parsed against Hip and SAO catalogs. The RA and Dec values have been extended in precision and other info from the Hip catalog added. This catalog contains the following data: Hip, RAhms, DEdms, (Epoch Year 1991.25) Vmag, VarFlag, r_Vmag, RAdeg, DEdeg, Plx ,Distance LY, pmRA, pmDE, BTmag, VTmag, B-V, r_B-V, V-I, r_V-I, Period, HvarType, MultFlag, HD, BD, CoD, CPD, (V-I)red, SpType, SAO, DM, GC, The catalog comes in two flavors, one in XLS format and one about half the size in CSV for those with slow connections. There are 17,580 entries as this catalog contains only the stars common to both.
