These furnaces were manufactured between 1995 and 2000, and sold
under the brand names of Coleman, Coleman Evcon and Red T.
Please check the model number of your furnace.
A number of premature heat exchanger failures on these furnaces
have been reported. The furnaces involved in these reports
were found to have heat exchanger cracking, burn through and in
extreme cases, furnace wrapper burn through.
These situations, if left unresolved, can lead
to significant property damage, personal injury or death.
The cause of these failures typically has been found to be
attributed to application of the furnace beyond normal rated
specifications combined with component part variation.
To address this problem, UPG is providing a free inspection and
upgrade of any furnace involved (as defined in the above model
list). A local Coleman Authorized Service Center (Bob's
Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc.) will inspect and install an
upgrade kit or replacement heat exchanger, whichever is required and
perform adjustments to assure your furnace is operating within
normal rated specifications.
THERE IS NO CHARGE TO YOU FOR THE INSPECTION OR UPGRADE.
Please call the above number for service or more information.
