1-5/8" OAL , I've always liked the contemporary profile of the
High Standard pistols and this is my attempt at a 2mm pinfire
version. The action is based on the Kobold, berloque pistol,
manufactured in Germany, between the two world wars. It is
interesting for several reasons. First of all it is an
underhammer pistol, with the pin of the cartridge facing down into the
gun. Secondly, the wide, heavy hammer does double duty as
the guns breech. Finally, as shown in the photo above, the
trigger is actually the front grip-strap.
All parts are nickel
plated steel. The grips are ivory. Other grip material,
such as ebony,
rosewood, ironwood, can be substituted for the same price. For mother of pearl there is a slight
additional charge.
