OK.... I've thought about this for a long time and I've come to the conclusion that I need help!!! For years now I have asked myself the same question... I have even asked my mother and my sisters, but they don't have an answer either. So please... will someone out there help me....Please tell me......
WHY ARE MEN IDIOTS???
Now, I don't mean to offend any of the guys out there who may not be idiots (all 3 of you), but come on, how else can this kind of stupidity be explained?? I've been told that it's just the way men are.... and I've also been told that it's just a "Guy Thing"... well guys I'm here to tell ya, this "Guy Thing" really sucks the big one !!! And before you go and get all defensive and pissed off, let me give you an example of the stupidity I'm talking about.
The other day a friend of mine and her significant other were shopping in our local Wal-Mart. She mentioned that their oldest child wanted a new computer game for $9.84. After a short discussion they were both in agreement that he really didn't need a new computer game right now; there were other things they could spend that money on, things that he needs. End of the conversation, right??..... NOT!!! For 10 minutes she had the pleasure of listening to her husband tell her that if they were going to be able to afford school supplies and school clothes and school shoes, that they were going to have to tighten up the belt a little bit and watch what they spent. No more spending money on stupid shit that they don't need. So of course they didn't buy the computer game. Instead they bought the new CD that he's been wanting! Hey, it was on sale!!! It was $15.98 and now it's only $12.98. Oh and we can't forget the 4 20oz. bottles of soda they had to buy out of the cooler for a buck apiece because the 12 pack of canned soda they bought 3 days ago for $2.98 was sitting on the floor at home and it was warm.
Now I'll admit... I'm not the brightest crayon in the box but come on... did this really make any sense?? I think not!!
I usually don't complain too much when it comes to money. My husband is very good with the finances and I'm really not doing without when it comes to the material things in life, but... sometimes this "Guy Thing" really pisses me off!!
Here's another example.
We are soon going to receive a large sum of money and with it we are buying another truck. Our car is a piece of crap and we need a second vehicle. OK, now here's the problem..... I suggested that with some of the money that is left over (about $1400.00) I would like to buy new boxsprings for our children's beds. There's not enough support under the mattress, which makes them very uncomfortable to sleep on. We've got the extra money, why not... right?? Well of course NOT, we don't have $200 to be buying things we don't need!! So instead, we're spending $300 (or more) on a new Hoyt bow. Never mind the fact that, in the last 5 years, no one has even touched the one that is sitting down in the basement collecting dust.
Hold on....Did I miss something here??? Could someone please explain to me how this "guy thing" works cause I just don't get it !! Is it a chemical imbalance in the brains of all men? Is it something they are taught that has been handed down from generation to generation? Or is it just another imperfection in the male genes that they inherited ?
Well ladies.... I guess that's just another one of those questions in life that we may never get the answer to. Ya can't live with 'em and ya can't shoot 'em either.... so what's a girl to do??
I guess we'll just have to live with the fact that.....
