Fred McDougall
Troy resident Frederick H. McDougall, 62, died 13 November 2002, near
Troy, Montana.
He was born on February 5, 1940 at Libby, Montana to Coleridge and Wilna
Bryan McDougall.
Raised and educated at Troy, Fred married Marilyn Mortenson in 1963.
After graduating from Troy High School, Fred attended the University of
Montana, Kinman Business College, Spokane Falls Community College and Eastern
Washington University.
He returned to Troy where he operated the Troy Saverite service
station for many years before working on the Libby Dam Project.
An excavation contractor and a member of the Operating Engineers, Fred owned
and operated McDougall Enterprises.
Fred was very active in contributing to his communities activities and
needs. Fred served on the Troy City Council, the Troy Volunteer and the Rural Fire Departments.
He was also a cofounder of The Troy All School Reunion Program.
He especially doing special projects for family and friends and enjoyed the hours working in his shop.
Fred was preceded in death by his father in 1962 and his mother in 1978.
Survivors include his wife Marilyn, Troy; son Cecil McDougall, Troy; daughter
Heather McDougall, Missoula; Sisters Grace Doyle, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and
Myrtle Anderson and her husband Ray, Troy; brother Bryan McDougall and his wife
Sandra, Brigham City, Utah; grandson Zack McDougall, Troy; mother-in-law Evelyn
Mortenson, Troy, and faithful dog Hunter.
Services were held on Saturday, 16 November 2002 at the Troy United Methodist Church with interment following at Milnor Lake Cemetery.
