Callie - Les Paul Copy

Painting done by Hock's Custom Colors.

The Harlequin paint  is called red-blue. You can see why. These pictures just don't do it justice. It goes from copper to red to purple to blue and everything in between. Very cool paint.

Callie was a Les Paul copy that was given to me. While the neck and body were solid mahogany and played very well, she had various problems. The intonation could not be adjusted, the pickups and pots were junk. So I rebuilt her. She now has 2 Seymour Duncan pickups. An SH-2 Jazz at the neck, and an SH-4 at the bridge. The wiring allows for a lot of options. She has a stereo jack so you can rout each pickup to a different amp. Each pickup can go hum bucker or single coil or out of phase. The volume and tone knobs are all push-pull switches to accomplish this. The 3 way switch was replaced with a 6 position rotary switch. The frets were replace with jumbo (.055) frets, and the tuners were replaced with locking tuners. She jams now.
