Panzer

Okay, so Panzer is not a Boxer...

Panzer joined our family in May 2001 as a 6 month old puppy.  We decided to name him Panzer after the German tanks of World War II.  He very much lives up to his name, standing 28 inches high and weighing in at 98 pounds.

He was found wandering the streets of Fresno with a rope attached to his collar.  He had obviously broken loose from being tied up.  What a shame that someone did not understand what a treasure they had and simply left him tethered!  A wonderful man found this sweet puppy in the middle of a median at a very busy intersection.  He placed a found ad in the Fresno Bee and Nobody claimed him.

So after two weeks of hoping to find the owner, he gave up.  Having too many dogs of his own, he offered him to us.  Panzer does not have a mean bone in his body!  He is the most wonderful sweet baby and he loves his Boxer siblings.  He is especially fond of Sparrow.

Over the years we have wondered what he is a mix of.  Many people ask if he is a wolf hybrid.  Based on his personality and temperament, I say no way.  He is one of the most trustworthy and stable animals I have ever known.  I think he is most probably a German Shepherd / Malamute mix.  Take a peek at his ear set, more like that of a Malamute than shepherd.  He is very vocal, but does not bark, ever.  I have considered having a DNA test run, but haven't made that leap.  Besides, he would still be our lovable "Dorky" boy.
