VERY RARE PROTOTYPE SPYDERCO COORS LOGO "Q" NO RESERVE
You are bidding on a no reserve auction for a Coors logo "Q" prototype! As you can see from the photos it is in excellent condition!
Please look close at the pictures they are of the actual knife you will receive when you win this auction!
The "Q", first introduced as the "Silhouette" in 1995, at the SHOT Show, created quite a stir.
It also won Blade Magazines "Overall Knife of the Year" award, before the knife was even in production!
The original objective of the "Q" was to produce a knife that was minimal in mass, weight, and parts while still retaining Spyderco standards in performance.
One thing that wasn’t lost on Spyderco was that it could cut other company’s logos into the blade to be used as a promotional tool. This knife is one such knife. Spyderco had the Coors blade cut, and presented it to the Coors Brewing Company. In response Coors issued a cease and desist order.
The model you are bidding on has a black injection molded handle with lanyard hole and an offset SpringClip. You will note that with this prototype you can only carry it blade tip down, with the production models you could change the position of the clip, making it tip up or tip down carry. It also has a SpringLock similar in appearance to the clip allowing for left or right handed use.
This knife wasn’t abused, but it has some movement in the blade, being a prototype this can be expected. Its overall condition is great, as you can see from the pictures!
If you collect Spyderco knives this is definitely one for the collection!!!
Good luck bidding and keep watching our auctions for more Spyderco products and prototypes in the near future!
