LATEST NEWS:

  • 2006-06-27:  I've updated!!  It's been way too long, so go ahead and commence with the teasing.

The neighborhood is shaping up quite nicely.  Only a few houses left to complete!  We have some really great neighbors, some of whom are moving soon for various reasons.  We are sad, but wish them well.  Once they move, we will have lived in the neighborhood longer than anyone else.

I'm on my 13th year the same company (anyone I care about already knows where I work) and it's going well.  I have a new position (since last year anyway) and I'm now responsible for end user environment globally (hardware & software standards,  software distribution, projects, etc. - about the only thing we don't do is break/fix).  It's the job I always wanted, so naturally I love it.

I've traveling quite a bit for work recently.  I've been to Florida (again), the SF Bay area like 4 times, and LA (Huntington Beach to be exact), and I'm going to the SF Bay area again in July.  I plan on taking Dawnaelle & Sarek with me so they can visit Great America and Marine World.  Hopefully, that will be the last of my work related travel for a while.

In motorcycle news, I went down last September.  I lost control avoiding a deer.  It was the first time in 12 years, and I wasn't hurt, so I don't feel too badly about it.  Some new body panels & miscellaneous bits and the bike is back to awesome!  I also recently traveled to the new Miller Motorsports Park in Utah for the AMA races.  What a great facility.  It wasn't completely finished, so it should be even nicer.  I really want to go back next year.  I even got a chance to ride on the track.

I recently bought a remote control helicopter (not the easy-to-fly kind from Radio Shack, but a real, full control heli).  It's harder than it looks to fly.  I'm doing well as long as I'm behind it.  I suck when it gets turned around and is heading back toward me.  Still, I've always wanted one and it's loads of fun.

Dawnaelle is working with drug and alcohol addicted babies, and doing well at it.  From what she tells me, it's tough.  So many people who want babies can't have them or have trouble.  Then there are those who really want them to begin with but just can't seem to stop having them.  I can only imagine how tough it would be to see that.  My hat's off to her for having the necessary compassion, patience, and love.

We finally got Dawnaelle's motorcycle registered.  It only took 2 years!  I continue to be impressed by it's comfort and fun factor.  The EX-500 is now my favorite bike to recommend to beginners.

Sarek is now just a few inches shy of 5 feet tall.  Did I mention he is just about to turn 9?  He has had some minor challenges in school, but is still doing well.  Dawnaelle & I are so proud of how loving, thoughtful, and well behaved he is.  He is developing quite the personality as well!

Sarek is really into his remote control car (from Santa).  I upgraded it with a faster motor and it's downright crazy fast now, not to mention fun.  I bought one for myself, but it's somehow just not as fast as his.  Must be because his is the Fast & Furious Lancer Evolution model!  :)
