Advantage AviationCenter for Professional Flight Training
FleetWe use Mooney aircraft exclusively for training. Mooneys are classified by the FAA as high performance, complex aircraft. Most schools use simple fixed gear aircraft. Why train in a high speed, retractable gear aircraft instead of low power fixed gear aircraft typically used by 90% of flight schools? Simple. In one word, quality. All of your flying time will be of the performance quality that will be required to fly larger aircraft. Transition from a high-performance, complex single to multi-engine or turbine aircraft takes half the time or less, than it takes from a low-performance aircraft. Normally pilots trained to fly in high performance aircraft from their first flight usually make for better pilots. Additionally comparing Mooneys to training aircraft used at other schools is like comparing a Porsche to a Yugo. We augment all training with FAA approved flight training devices. Studies have shown that the proper use of FTD’s in flight training can expedite the learning curve. Plus all major airlines use FTD’s in training new pilots and for maintaining currency for veteran pilots. So if it works for them it will work for you. Also the more time spent in a FTD during your training will help your comfort level when you have your initial job interview "sim check ride".
