If your partner has bid a suit, lead your highest card in that suit.If you have AKx in a side suit, lead the K, then if partner signals encouragement lead the A. From a suit with touching honors lead the highest card, i.e. K from KQJ. Lead the highest card of an interior sequence, i.e. T from AQT98. When a 3 or 4 card suit has only one honor, lead a low card from that suit. From a worthless suit lead the highest card or fourth from the highest. Lead the higher card from a doubleton. Lead a singleton if you need to ruff that suit later. |
| Third hand play on opening lead: | High encourages, low discourages. For count, high-low equals even, low-high equals odd. |
