The evening of "the crowning" had arrived! A festive atmosphere was orchestrated, by Franciscan Manor staff members and Gordon Health Ventures executives, to celebrate the completion and dedication of the newest phase of the Manor restoration. More than 100 friends, associates, staff and neighbors of the Assisted Living Center in beautiful Beaver Falls, Pa enjoyed champagne, hors d'oeuvres and music during the reception. A ceremonial presentation of a hand-painted commemorative roof bracket to Scott Gordon and his wife, Jennifer, by the attending representatives of British Conservatories preceded the much anticipated "lifting" of the roof lantern. The fully glazed lantern, dangling from the craneman's hook, began its ascent . As the lantern became airborne, Old Glory and the Union Jack unfurled to the accompanying strains of "Stars and Stripes Forever", enthusiastically performed by a local brass band. In the early darkness of the summer evening, excited participants waved Fourth of July sparklers and miniature American flags as the lantern rose steadily to its final mooring. Cameras flashed and cheers erupted as the 'Lady of the Manor' was crowned.
The conservatory was the brainchild of Gordon Health Ventures CEO Scott Gordon, who acquired the manor estate from Franciscan priests who occupied the residence since 1965. Gordon's vision was to include a conservatory/greenhouse for the enjoyment of the future residents of the renovated facility. The resident horticulturist, Steve Cox, teaches planting techniques and monitors the Garden Club at the Manor.
British Conservatories is honored to be a part of a Gordon Health Ventures facility and we value our connection with Franciscan Manor, the residents and its' staff.
We invite you to view our photos of the installation of this glorious structure.
