This site is having an identity crisis. In order to avoid endless confusion with the Coalition of Oak Ridge Retired Employees, we dropped the name, "CORRE Crier", and in desperation adopted "Cabal Crier" which we as well as others felt was too bland and non-inspiring. We are tentatively adopting the above name (ORPPI) but are still open to improvements. Any suggestion should attract attention of the Google crawler (indexer) and catch the eye of searchers as they scan the Google search results.
About the Informer:
This web site will not only
try to inform retirees, spouses, impending retirees, interviewees and the
general public about the injustices in the current Oak Ridge (and Paducah) pension
plans but also supply a venue for participant responses and opinion (blogging).
The site will emphasize the analysis of the pension plan and its objective
comparison to other DOE plans and national norms. At the same time we shall not
ignore that any solution to this alleged problem will have a political
component that will not be ignored. Although the site is independent of CORRE,
it is intended to be an open and informal communication channel broadly in
support of the CORRE position. It's prime purpose is to raise public awareness
and participation in the pension problem.
It is operated by Bob
Henderson and Al Brooks and is an outgrowth of some of Al's pension plan
analysis posted on his web pages. Its objectives coincide with those of CORRE
although it has no affiliation with that organization. The opinions expressed
are those of the designated authors of each posting. While the web page and
e-mail media do not reach everyone, they were selected as the only ones we
could afford. We are currently supporting the following main features:
