The Pension Plan Parables
(aka Horror Stories)
The falling purchasing value of the DOE/ORO Contractor Pension Plans has resulted in the inevitable reality: some retirees are under severe to moderate economic stress and it slowly gets worse. This section of the website will document some of those cases where people have started to suffer. For this section of the website we will waive our policy of personal identification of the posting in order to protect privacy when requested. In these cases the person will be known to the web managers.
The DOE claims to generosity and the high praises sung for the 'Cold War Warriors' seem to ring somewhat hollow in the face of some of these sad tales. DOE's failure to release accurate and meaningful details of how they rank pension plans make these anecdotes into the only data the public has and they are no more vague than the DOE claims..
