A Clinical Medical Approach to Workers Illness
Much of the Oak Ridge community believes the problem of ill workers can not be solved by the existing medical services system, despite their dedicated efforts, but requires more clinical attention to the workers and nearby residents in a research environment. Such an effort would supplement the current dose reconstruction and epidemiology studies. At a recent DOE/ATSDR/CDC and TN Department of Health meeting in Oak Ridge there was overwhelming public support for this approach. A modern technological society must understand such problems as Oak Ridge faces. Community organizations have started to petition DOE to initiate and support such an effort. The following organizations have produced such documents or support for such actions. Where a machine-readable copy of the document has been available, it is available by clicking the link shown.
