Dear Editor:

In a letter to the Editor, Mr. Frank Sutherland, Editor of The Tennessean, claims to have reported the health issues in Oak Ridge accurately and fairly. Such a claim falls into the "cheap rug" variety. Taking Gene Caldwell's advice, I intend to take to the Internet to correct the record as to what is going on in Oak Ridge about this issue. You did the courtesy to Mr. Sutherland of publishing The Tennessean's web page address. I hope you will do the same for me: http://home.comcast.net/~brooks50/or_tenn.html. I invite all Oak Ridgers to visit this address.

I also invite any resident in Oak Ridge or the surrounding counties who wish to contribute any factually based opinion to this enterprise and to submit material. I am a terribly slow keyboarder so E-mail text if possible will be appreciated. Detailed directions are on the web pages. I hope this community will take the opportunity to challenge an adversarial editor with a high-speed press.

I also challenge The Tennessean to publish this letter and post it on their web page with out quoting out of context. It will be more than they did with my other letters to them.

Sincerely,

/s/ Al Brooks
