ii) Preparation of Bar Graphs and Overheads re OR Soils Levels (99-016)
These were distributed, briefly discussed and can be available as overheads for presentation.
iii) Comments on PHWG - Currently the PHWG process is stalled and may produce a very bland document. It will be incumbent upon the citizens to revive the community issues in the Forum.
iv) Comments on General Progress - OREJC is still undergoing growing pains but it is limited largely to developing an adequate Scarboro representation in spite of a great deal of James Lewis' effort. See the agenda item 9 c)
v) Request to DOE (W. Perry) for Calendar Listing (99-018) - We did not prevail and will persist.
c) Status of Grant Application - The EPA grant failed.
a) Clarification of Quorum re Robert's Definition10) New Business
It was agreed that a quorum will be defined as the members present and the bylaws will be modified to indicate this.
b) Adoption of the Report on Residential Contamination - 99-014
Item was tabled until the next meeting to allow study.
c) Adoption of Program of Work and Public Input Project Plan - SD-02
Item was tabled until the next meeting to allow study.
d) Adoption of EPA Sampling Comments - 99-012
a) Adoption of ATSDR Request for Health Consult - 99-01111) Identification of Action Item Assignments
A motion was made and seconded (Mulvenon/Kaplan) to sent 99/011 requesting a Scarboro Environmental Health Consult to ATSDR.
b) Recruiting and Public Outreach Strategy
This topic was thoroughly discussed and the two topics are related. We need to continue to recruit members that can form the needed outreach channels. The following channels were discussed and will be pursued:
i) The retired persons
ii) The churches
iii) The professionals
iv) The youth through the SECME organization.
c) Strategy for Grant Application
There were no actions taken other than affirm our intent to seek assistance for outreach.
