Welcome to my bouzouki page. I am Elias Broufas, a player and luthier of bouzoukis and guitars. I have been a working musician for over 30 years. My love for playing and appreciating acoustic instruments has led me to become a maker of Greek bouzoukis and acoustic guitars. Many years of playing experience has given me great understanding to the needs of working musicians such as: sound, feel, intonation, action, overall construction and musical dynamics.Over the past 20 years i have studied the building methods of many well known bouzouki luthiers by repairing several bouzoukis. My continuous formal luthier studies are taking place at Luthier's Workshop with luther Thomas Knatt http://www.ziplink.net/users/tknatt/ .I strive to achieve excellence as a luthier by using the best available materials in order to produce soulful instruments as unique as the players themselves.
