DescriptionBookInfo is a shareware plugin for FrameMaker that counts the total number of words, pages, and anchored frames in all documents in a book. For counting words, BookInfo simply calls the FrameMaker word count report for each file in the book. The following information comes from the FrameMaker wordcount source code: Wordcount counts words in the current document. It operates by locating all flows on body pages in the document, and then reading the content of every paragraph in each flow. It then counts the words in each paragraph. A character is defined to be either an "in-word" or a "not-in-word" character. A "word" is a group of one or more "in-word" characters - delimited on either side of the group by a "not-in-word" character, a paragraph break, or a hard (user-inserted) line break. In addition, the program counts words in graphic text lines which appear on body pages of the document. Text in footnotes, tables, or generated from variables or cross references is counted. Text generated by autonumber strings or from master or reference pages (e.g. headers and footers) is not counted. UsageIn the book window, choose the File menu command: File > Utilities > Book Info As each file is counted, the file name appears in the status line of the book window. When the count is complete, it is displayed in a dialog. The count is given for generated files, document files, and total files. Installation1. Copy both files, the .txt and .dll, to your maker\fminit\plugins directory. 2. When you restart FrameMaker, the new menu command will be available. CompatibilityBookInfo works with FrameMaker 7.0 through 9.0 on Windows. If you use Unicode in filenames, please contact me before ordering.
