Information About Your Web Site

If you like, you can use the form below to provide me with some basic information about your web site project. Or you can just print it and have it handy when we talk about your site project, whether on the phone or in person. The form lists much of the basic information that I will need before I can get to work building your site.

Be sure that the email address is the one you check every day, since this is the easiest and fastest way for me to contact you.

Have you already signed up with a web hosting service?  If so, I need some information about them also.  If not, this is the information that you should send me (email is fine) when you get it.

If you want to do something fancy, such as online ordering, or you just need advice on chosing a web hosting service, let me know.  Note, however, that I cannot guarantee the quality of the service you receive from any web hosting service, including any I might recommend.

Site Design Preferences

Do you have a design in mind already?  Or perhaps some color scheme?  Or can you send me the addresses of sites that you would like to emulate or which contain certain features that you like?  If so, let me know now.  Any of that type of information will speed up development and reduce your costs.

If you can fit your design preferences into this box, please do so.  If not, please include them on a separate sheet.  After I give you my address, you can send me that sheet, along with any sketches, printouts, brochures or whatever else you can to help me along in designing and building your web site. See the Technical Details page for supported disk, file and graphics formats. The more you can send me in electronic form, the better. I can scan graphics and type text, but it will add to the total cost of your web site.

Notes

  1. I will be happy to design a fine web site for you given nothing more than the words you want printed on the pages.  But if you have some notion of what you'd like the site to look like, please let me know before I start creating your web site.  It might save you the cost of having to modify whatever design I come up with on my own.
  2. While I am happy to look at sites that contain features or designs that you like, be aware that some features or designs might come at a higher cost or might make the site more difficult to handle if you wish to maintain it "in-house" (or more costly to have me maintain.)  I will do my best to alert you to such situations as early in the process as I can.

Before you press the "Send to Bruce" button to send the information above directly to me, you might want to print this page and make notes on it for an in-person or telephone meeting between us. (Note that text that scrolls out of view in the boxes will not print.)
