Peter Smith

Peter Smith
1877 - 1882

Smith was as chosen the band's first director soon after the Citizen's Silver Cornet Band was formed on February 22, 1877.
Harry Schultz

Harry S. Schultz
1882 - 1885

Schultz was part owner in a local music store and also a local piano tuner and piano teacher. It was during this time that new instruments (including reeds) were purchased and the name changed to the Germania Band.

Daniel Hoffman

Daniel Hoffman
1885 - 1890

Hoffman was one of the charter members of the Citizen's Silver Cornet Band. Although a cornet player, it was his responsibility to blend the new sounds of the reeds with those of the brasses.
Lewis Bleam

Lewis E. Bleam
1890 - 1893

The son of one of the band's founders, Lewis Bleam had joined the band in 1885. Rev. J. F. Ohl assisted him.
