The map to the left shows the three trails involved in our trip.   One group rode a portion of the Kal-Haven Trail for a total of 15 miles.   The other group rode 50 miles beginning in downtown Kalamazoo on the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail, then on the Kal - Haven Trail to South Haven all the way to the trail head of the Van Buren Trail and then back to camp.
The scouts getting ready to begin the bus ride to the trail head in downtown Kalamazoo.  Thanks to John for providing the transportation to the trail head.  The youngest scout Andrew 11 and the oldest scout Max are ready for the long trip.
Both groups get ready for dinner.
The Scouts are on the bus, while the bikes are getting strapped down on the trailer.
With nearly fives mile done, the 50 mile group gets ready to begin riding the Kal - Haven trail (33.5 Miles). The group stands in front of the caboose at the Kalamazoo trail head.
Lunch on the trail
After completing about 38 miles, the group stops to checkout a camping area.  This camping area was built by a boy scout as an Eagle Scout project.
This is the group of younger scouts that rode 15 miles.
