Responsibilities include management of the State of Delaware’s Windows 2000/2003 Active Directory and Exchange 2000/2003 infrastructure. Assist state agencies with migration from Banyan network services to Windows 2000 based platforms. Design and implement new technology to enhance core services for State technology users.

 

  • Upgrade windows 2000 Domain Controllers to Windows 2003. Upgrade State Exchange 2000 infrastructure to Exchange 2003.

 

  • Manage the health and integrity of the State’s Active Directory, installation of new Domain Controllers and maintenance of existing infrastructure. Diagnose and resolve issues that impact the performance of the core network.

 

  • Project Lead for the State’s implimentation of Script Logic, Microsoft Software Update Services (SUS) and HP Systems Insight Manager (SIM).

 

  • Management of centralized Exchange 2000 email for over 17,000 users residing on Microsoft Clusters and highly available EMC disk arrays.

 

  • Implement Manage and direct state wide programs such as Antivirus Protection, Blackberry Enterprise Servers, and other high level computing initiatives.

 

  • Monitor health Domain Controllers, Exchange Servers, Application Servers and K12 Domain Controllers using Compaq Insight Manager, NetIQ, Directory Analyzer and other automated routines.

Network Supervisor and Senior Network Engineer

Head of Network Operations: Directed and maintained all network resources for the company which included 8 business operations across the country as well as the corporate office located in Plano TX. Managed the network operations support staff.

·        Developed a migration path for upgrade of servers to Windows 2000 and Exchange 2000. Implemented the first 2 servers.

·        Managed a WAN consisting of 10 nodes using Cisco Routers. Worked with data circuit vendors for circuit installation and timely resolution of circuit outages.

·        Managed network security using Cisco PIX Firewall and Microsoft Proxy Server. Responsible for overall network security.

·        Responsible for all Windows NT servers including 4 Exchange 5.5 servers, a SQL 7.0 server, a Proxy server,  6 File and Print Sharing servers and an NT 4.0 Terminal server hosting the main POS business application. Built and installed servers using RAID configurations.

·        Implemented a company wide backup plan using Veritas Backup Exec. Ensured remote tape rotations were preformed and managed off site backup storage.

·        Responsible for proper operation of NT services including WINS, DNS, Trusts, User accounts and other administrative functions of an NT Server based environment.

·        Assisted with general maintenance and troubleshooting issues on an HP9000 HP/UX.

·        Responsible for network connectivity to all network services; telnet connections to the HP9000 as well as to an NT 4.0 Terminal server and SQL 7.0 Server functions.

·        Responsible for vendor coordination of frame relay installation at all sites. Managed and coordinated bandwidth allocation to all sites.

·        Used spare equipment to implement Proxy services using Redhat Linux 7.0 as well as creating a web hosting site for the company.

·        Researched extensively the feasibility of replacing NT servers using available features in Linux (SAMBA).

·        Responsible for all network servers and services with the organization which included: (PDC/BDC) Domain Controllers, Exchange Servers, Proxy, SQL 7.0, Print Services, Firewall (Checkpoint), and Terminal Server.

·        Configured and managed user applications hosted by data center servers.

·        Provide Remote Access Service (RAS) to distant office sales staff and traveling executives.
