Hero Hall of Fame

        Everyone needs a hero, or positive role model, to emulate.  You and your classmates have had the opportunity to examine what attributes, or characteristics, make up heroes.  You have chosen a significant person for yourself.  Now you will begin your research in preparation for showcasing your hero.

Lives, the Biography Resource:  Links to thousands of biographies, autobiographies, memoirs, diaries, letters, narratives, oral histories and more.  All listings in Individual Lives link to biographies of people who have died. Lives does not include biographies of people who are still living.  Use the "Search" option to locate biographical information about your hero OR select the Individuals option to locate the person alphabetically by last name.

Biography-center:  is a huge directory of biographies available on the Web.

Women's Biographies Distinguished Women of Past and Present:  This site has biographies of women who contributed to our culture in many different ways.

Biographical Dictionary:  includes over 27,000 brief biographies of a few sentences to a paragraph in length.

Biography:  from the Biography Channel, contains 20,000 brief biographies searchable by name.

Time - 100 Most Important People of the 20th Century:  100 biographies of a few pages in length.

Astronaut Biographies:  Career Astronauts:  Official NASA Astronaut Biographies prepared by the Astronaut Office of Nasa Johnson Space Center.
