2010 marks Bud's 50th year of performing airshows. He flew his first show as the designated demonstration pilot of RCAF Station Penhold, Alberta in the Harvard (T-6).
This show was held at a local resort town over the water on June 6th 1961 at Sylvan Lake, AB.
RCAF station Penhold airport is now the Red Dear civilian airport.
Bud was awarded the Art Scholl Showmanship award in 2005, and the Bill Barber Showmanship award in 2008. Here are his main personal airshow planes.
The T-6 show starts with a snaproll on takeoff. Unbelievable, even to those who have seen it many times. T-6 You tube cockpit
The Yak-55 solo show is non stop, tumbling and dynamic.
The Yak dual show performed with his son, Ross, gets everyone's attention. The common comments are: unbelievable, or we may not watch everyone, but we always watch you guys.
The Fouga Jet show is a close in, dynamic aerobatic show;a ballet that leaves the spectators with a sense of awe.
