On May 24, 2000 Paul Beaulieu and Donna Futoransky from Fall River Celebrates America were present to present the awards for last years competition. They thanked everyone for participating and informed us that many of the photos that we took would be used for advertisement for the FRCA celebration. They also explained that the awards are given at this time of year to stimulate interest for FRCA 2000. Slade’s Ferry Bank, the sponsor of the photo contest, donating the funds to provide the film, development and prizes. |

During the five days when the Chamber of Commerce presents the Fall River Celebrates America Waterfront Festival event held during the month of August, Fall River Camera Club photographers participate in a Photo Contest sponsored by Slade's Ferry Bank. Members submit entries in three categories; parade & road race, ships & fireworks, concerts & carnival. | On Tuesday evening, July 25,2000 at the Cultural Center in Fall River , the First Place winners in the 1999 Fall River Celebrates America Photo Contest were officially announced. As the winning slides were projected on the screen, the First Place winners, Leo Hamel and Ray Francoeur, received congratulations from Paul H. Beaulieu of Media Concepts Corps. and Kimberly Moniz, First Fed Representative. Ray Francoeur accepted the First Place and Best of Show awards for his son Paul who was unable to attend. At the last FRCC meeting in June, framed awards showing the photographers winning slide were presented to the first place winners, the best of show, as well as four honorable mention winners which included Laurie Gagne, Peter Moniz, Del Furtado, and Paul Francoeur. | ||
