3. COST ESTIMATING (LET’S KEEP IT SIMPLE)

-Learn all the “shortcuts” used by the trade when figuring out a job cost. We will discuss longhand, shorthand, lineal foot, square foot, bulk rate and some plain “wild & crazy” methods to calculate construction costs.

-We then will go step by step through costing out a new home. We will discuss the important contingency factor, how much overhead to include, and that elusive profit margin.
